A family of avid travelers, Flip Flops & Palms chronicles our adventures throughout the Caribbean and the tropics through stories and breathtaking photos and videos.
We’re glad you stopped by for a look! We hope to inspire other travelers, especially those with kids, to explore the Caribbean. We tend to visit more off-the-beaten-path destinations, shunning the massive resorts on the busier islands in favor of a lesser known, more authentic experience. For us, wasting the day away in solitude on a white sand beach, exploring mountains and rainforests, island hopping between deserted islands and beach clubs, and having dinner with the locals is our idea of a perfect vacation.
Photography and Filmmaking
My passion for capturing the beauty of the Caribbean runs deep. There’s something about the interplay of the sun, the water, and and the swaying of palm trees that energizes the soul, and I’ve made it my mission to document our experiences as we explore some of the most breathtaking tropical destinations on the planet.
I utilize a variety of gear to capture my shots and footage, including Nikon and Lumix kits, GoPros, gimbals, and DJI drones. Processing of my photos is performed using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, while post-proccessing of the video footage is performed in Adobe PremierePro and After Effects.
As much as I enjoy the photography and filmmaking process for my own gratification, I get super excited when others connect with it, share it, or simply appreciate the end result. My work has been shared and used in marketing campaigns by a variety of entities, including travel agents, world-class resorts, award-winning restaurants, countless businesses, locals, bloggers, travelers, and even national tourism bureaus. With hundreds of thousands of views across Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, thousands of shares, and high levels of engagement, it’s exciting to watch what started out as posting a few home videos morphing into something much bigger.
